Chloe and I are big fans of INSP’s, Saddle Up Saturday, where old western television shows of The Virginian, The Big Valley and Bonanza are run all day long. Now, growing up on the east coast, I actually dreaded when these shows came on the air, …boring! But now that we reside in the southwest, the backdrop of western scenery seems all very familiar and interesting.
INSP promotes Saddle Up Saturday with the announcer saying “Stay Frosty!” as they show quick snippets of these western shows. Hearing the phrase, I looked it up on the Internet and found this definition from the Urban Dictionary.
"A valediction which has come to mean, "be cool," but which more properly understood is an admonishment to stay alert and on one's toes."
That phrase is short for a quick shout out, and perfect for Chloe who is beginning to understand that it means to be on alert for rabbits and birds when we’re on the trail.
"Stay Frosty, Chloe!"
