“The Bobby Bed - More Comfy Than Your Bed"
I mentioned it in Chloe’s birthday post several months back, about the orthopedically designed bed she’s been sleeping on for years. While I don’t indorse many doggy products, I’ve been impressed with the “Bobby Bed”. It’s one bed that features multiple advantages over ordinary dog beds.
Memory Foam Mattress:
According to the manufacturer, the bed matches the curvature of a dog’s spine relieving pressure from their joints, making it ideal for older dogs suffering from leg or back pain, or younger pups in need of a restful night’s sleep after a day’s worth of activity. At 14 years of age, Chloe has developed stiffness in her joints, particularly her right back leg that we treat with non-evasive, no side effect remedies - of fish oil capsules (Nordic Naturals), and Nutramax’s Dasuqun, a joint health supplement, and of course her Bobby Bed.
Surrounding Bolster Height:
The bed features an anatomically correct chin rest which allows the proper height for a dog to rest their head for improved breathing. I can vouch for this when I see how Chloe lays her head on the surrounding bolster. Normal dog beds often have perimeter bolsters that are too tall in height leaving a dog to lay their head only on their paws down on the bed’s surface.
Ease of Entry:
The surrounding low chin height gives Chloe ease of access to enter the bed from any direction by easily stepping over the bolster.
Sizes for Different Dogs:
The Bobby Bed comes in small, medium and large footprint sizing making it compatible for small to large dogs along with two different décor colors.
Having done a lot of research early on, I’m sold on the Bobby Bed. It’s given Chloe long nights and afternoon naps of quiet comfortable sleep.
